"Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi"

I am the master of my emotions -
I transform fear to love, anger to compassion, pain to comfort,
scarcity to abundance, expectation to gratitude, and jealousy to generosity.
- Jonathan Lockwood Huie
This country will not be a good place for any of us to live in
unless we make it a good place for all of us to live in.

What do we live for, if it is not to make life less difficult for each other?

"Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi"
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace,
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
- although attributed to St. Francis of Assisi, this prayer first appeared (written in French) in 1912
